Steamed Scallop

Posted in Chinese dishes | 19 November 2005

A large steamed scallop.

This is one of the best ways to eat scallop.

At Chinese Experience in London, chef Gun Leung steams the scallop with a few mushroom shreds, home-made cellophane (bean thread) noodles, garlic and soy sauce. Wonderful.

As a long time resident of Hong Kong I have to say that this is the ONLY way to eat scallops - any other way is just sooo second best!

Exactly! But steaming alone is a complicated art.... what you put along with the scallops critically affect the taste of it..especially the garlic part, some people don't like it too much.
Personally I like them with more soy sauce and bean soya.. simply tastes awesome!!
